Confused about sensors. Please help! :(

Hello, I have been receiving the code: 4EF5 Selection Angle Sensor.

I went on RealOEM, and there are two sensors, labeled Shift Sensor and Selection Sensor. I take the part numbers and google them to verify, and they are BOTH listed as "Gear Position Sensor" on vendor sites such as ECSTuning.

Can someone please tell me which sensor is the Selection Angle Sensor?

I have the workshop manual, and I would like to know which sensor is which so I can follow the steps and do it properly.

Reason being, when I replaced a sensor, I just plopped it back into place. Is the selection angle sensor meant to align with something inside the transmission (as shown in the workshop manual for "shift sensor") or is it just meant to be shoved into place?

I found someone on a dutch website with the same problem I have with the exact same car, and he goes about saying that the sensor must be aligned with a rod within the transmission...
