Looking2Buy (hey my former name on z4um!)

I spent several months looking for a used Z4. It was to be a second car - good New England weather only. Already have an 06 325i, so I was in no rush.
Went to cars.com, autotrader, etc. Found, at least in my area, that cars.com had the most selection. Found a white/tan 04 with sport, premium, nav and the rest of the tricked out options. Paid just over $29,000. It was from a BMW dealer about 100 miles from me. 16,000 miles, BMW certified.
Car is in pristine condition, but even with certified I have had my local BMW dealer replace plastic covers on headlights (cloudy), new shift knob (slightly worn), nav dvd upgrade and bluetooth reprogramming. I would highly recommend a certified as all of this has been done under warranty and no charge.

yep, cars.com has alot more to pick from. I didn't know about that site, Tanks. :P Even some 05's in there. Which brings to mind a question, when did the z4 go from 2.5/3.0 to 3.0i and 3.0si? Was it 06?

Yep. Remember that just in the US - other countries are offered a broader range.

Quick question, somehow before I always missed those reflectors (or lights?) on the back bumper, when did they come out? Were they always there or is that a later thing?

Reason being, i'm looking at a z4 on carmax, most likely will get it, but if I can say the 03's didn't have those reflectors stock then i'm hoping to bring down the price a little, not a big deal as I'll most likely get it anyways so long as the interest rate is ok.

Oh and it's the darker grey with red seats....not my white dream color but hey beggers can't be choosers

They've always been there on US market cars - the entire model run.

Good to know. I reckon I'll say it here first and post a thread when everything happens for good. So I saw on Carmax they had a 03 grey w/ red interior 3.0 sport package z4. Xenons, power roof. Still has runflats no sport seat or heated seats though which makes me sad in the pants, but I recall now every z4 I drove in germany had no sport seats so ah well. It has 27k miles carmax asking 25k. So simply put it's getting shipped to me as we speak so next week I should be in a z4. When I get it and can peel my fingers from the steering wheel (which will be impossible for 2.2 weeks) I'll take some pics an post.

And the peasants rejoice. Yaaaay!

That only took 4 years.
