Very nice! Car looks great and seems like you went with some well thought out quality mods.

What brand resonator did you go with? Any reason you decided to merge further up instead of what we initially discussed?

Only thing I would've done different is maybe go with an oval tip or duals to fill out the bumper cutout better. But your video sounds awesome!

Thank you! Yes I had a vision and knew the car needed a LSD pronto! Woops forgot to mention that the muffler and resonator are both Magnaflow, post edited. I decided on the merge early after reading that E91 n52 exhaust thread saying that Bimmerworlds set up is better flowing at higher rpm's with the y merge earlier. Realistically I believe that in racing that taking a corner or turn never puts you under 10mph where torque is generally needed at lower rpms / speeds. Unless they took the wrong line and or braked too much. For street I went with the 2.5" to keep a little bit of backpressure vs the 3". I havent noticed any big dips in backpressure with this catback system so I believe I have the best of both worlds. I was thinking of going back to the muffler exhaust shop in the future to get some flanges put on before the back resonator, and have him build another pipe with dual tips exitsand flange to swap whenever I wanted it much louder. Thanks again for your knowledge 3002 tii !

Great post!
I just started playing with the idea of changing to an LSD as I've been tracking my car more as of late.
How big is the compromise of losing some speed for traction and gains in acceleration? (Never done a mod like this before)
Any time frame for when you'll be tracking the car?

Yes LSD is a must for our cars if you decide to do spirited driving often or if it snows often where you live. If you only daily drive it on the street, you will likely not feel the benefits of the LSD, that LSD money would probably be well spent esle where to be honest. The acceleration from the rise in final gearing greatly prevails over the lost top speed in every gear due to what I want to do with my Z4. Before i could reach 60mph in 2nd gear but with the rise in final gearing it requires me to shift to third to get to 60mph now. I hopefully can get to tracking sometime during the summer. In the process of searching for a new DOT SNELL2015 helmet for my furture tracking.

Yeah, that's not correct.
The Bimmerworld setup is just a lazy/haphazardly fabricated exhaust with no regards to street-ability. The "Y" merger is too close to the exhaust manifold which kills low end torque - however, that's not too big of a deal at high RPM.

In regards to the exhaust outlet size - you cannot go "too large" after the exhaust merger. That means you could have (space permitting) gone with 5" exhaust if you wanted to, and would have lost ZERO power. On the flip side, with exhaust piping too small, you run the risk of actually not gaining as much power as you otherwise could have due to added back pressure.

That's not to say this is a bad exhaust or you shouldn't (or aren't) happy with it, it's just some of the things you did aren't what I would have recommended if you had spoken to me.

Otherwise, I'm just here to see where this build goes, so carry on.

Loving the Weds on the Z! Freed up a good amount of weight over stock with added width too.

The main reason for me to delete the old oem exhaust box muffler and pipes was to drop weight and delete the secondary cats. I know that an exhaust does not net much extra power on its own anyways. There is no replacement for lightweight.

Thank you thank you! I have DIY done everything myself since I learned how to wrench when I was 16, except for a few exceptions of alignments and smog testing as I dont have the equipment or tools for that haha.

Thank you I love my Wedssport too! Yes shedding weight off the car without stripping the interior/exterior is ideal! No replacement for lightweight!

UPDATED THE 2nd POST!!

Who told you that? Yes it does - it's an easy 10-15WHP on it's own.

Great progress man! Have you looked into my brake duct write up? What pads are you running?
