bmw manual says nothing about rotating tires

I was in for my yearly service and asked the dealer to rotate the tires, and the response i got was that bmw has no recommendation for rotating tires in their service manual. Meaning they recommend NOT rotating tires. Can anyone speak to this?

I have directional F1's and they are shot......this will make it the third set i'll have bought for the car (75K miles on the car). Is there any tire that will last longer than 25 to 30K?

On some cars the wheels are staggered so you can't rotate them.

Yeah, my tires are directional and wider in the rear than in the front, so every tire is stuck right where it sits now. Aggravating when there's a just a little wear issue that you could otherwise fix by rotating...

I ended up getting the F1 all season...instead of the F1 summer which is no longer made. The All Season supposedly lasts longer....don't know yet, but at least they handle like the summer's so I'm happy right now.

BTW, my aren't staggered and I'm about to get them rotated despite what the BMW shop manual.

So how is it going Rosie? How did the rotating of the tires go? Update?

I was thinking about this myself seeing how our cars seem to have agressive neg camber and most of the wear of the tires happens on the side closest to the car...what if i take the tires off and instead of rotating them because they are directional, I just swap them with the other side? this would put the worn side on the outside of the car where there is not as much load and wear out the inside a bit more for a little better balance...What do you guys think?

Also does anyone of pictures of their worn tires and how evenly/unevenly they get eaten up? Dont mean to thread jack rosie but this was a good question on your part Thanks.
