Lets talk AWD

Is it possible to swap the drivetrain from a 330xi into a Z4?

Why? Because AWD, why not.

Also, they come in manual. Not sure a 6spd but I know I've seen them.

Just want to get the topic started.

I know you sorta answered the question with “why not” but the car doesn’t make enough power where traction is an issue. Proper tires will address most inclement weather issues so at this point you’re adding unnecessary weight and drivetrain loss. The front engine / rwd works so well on this car, can’t imagine changing that up.

To answer your original question, with enough money anything’s possible but it’d be cheaper to drop in the s85 motor than figuring out how to swap over the xfer case, diffs, axles, etc.

Hello! I am from Russia Dagestan, I apologize for bad English, I did the translation in Google.
We are building interesting projects, here is an example of a BMW Z4 with an S55 DCT motor .. https://www.drive2.ru/r/bmw/z4_coupe...3842854282752/
or WWII E92 335 swap S55 DCT https://www.drive2.ru/l/536537211294713304/
or BMW 428 xDrive swap full M4 https://www.drive2.ru/r/bmw/4_series/1520023/
and my complete custom project https://www.drive2.ru/r/selfmade/1525943/

The next project will be a BMW Z4 AWD swap V6 VR38dett and a PDK Porsche Panamera turbo transmission, the car will be mid-engine, since the V6 is very short and will not be on top of the front axle, I will try to install the engine after the wheels, and move the motor to the body, as well as there will be a dry sump and the engine will sit very low.
Suspension front and rear from the 971 Panamera, the rear chassis is fully controllable, you ask how to install all this? I will cut the BMW floor, and I will weld the supporting frame, install all the components and let go of the body on it!
