Z4MC Back Issues
I have a 2007 Z4MC with the sport seats and pronounced side bolsters. For the past year, driving it for even short distances aggravates my lower back (I have sciatica). I tried using a highly Amazon rated seat pad as well as various seat and steering wheel positions without any luck. Does anyone have a similar issue and a recommended remedy? Thanks!

I had some back discomfort when I first bought mine and was genuinely considering changing seats. Who wants a drivers' car that hurts to drive?
However, I stumbled on a forum thread that suggested spending some proper time getting the seat adjusted. I tried it and now I find it perfectly comfortable. Could be worth a try if you haven't already? |

The cushion can be tiring on long drives as is thin and stiff, but I have zero back discomfort

About once a week you need to readjust it. In essence it has gel beads inside you pump the cushion with air shimmy on it let the air out and it remolds vacuum packing the beads contour to your back customizing it to you. Longest drive I’ve been on with it so far is 45 minutes and can tell a world of difference compared to without and that’s in my sparco fixed back seats in the roadster. https://morfitusa.com/products/morfi...yABEgLBy_D_BwE Last edited by Piper1; 02-03-2023 at 09:27 AM.. |

The way the straps tuck in they hide completely behind the seat pads of the fix back seats but will be bit more visible on stock seats. I tried the sparco lumbar cushion to start and that was crap pretty much just a small pillow behind your back compared to this. To give some back story to my back I lift and twist through 52k pounds worth of steel every day at work with Ford. My Dept is old school so no hoists or robots just pure back bone and grit. My disc got herniated the 1st year I was in the Dept and I’m still there doing the same thing 9 years later, glutton for punishment or sadist idk |

Been using the Morfit for over a year in the Z4. Great product and very comfortable.

Maupineda - What kind of cushion do you have? The one I have is made from 3" thick memory foam and makes my back worse on both short and long drives. It sounds like yours is totally different.

By cushion I was referring to the seat cushion itself. I have not added anything to the seat. But I think the OE seat suits some people’s frames better than others

One thing I have noticed about the sport seats, at least in my 2005, they have little lumbar support. More importantly, many of them having sagging bottom section. I have some material wired underneath the seat. I am hoping for a rebuild of it one day.
