Head Unit

I have a 2003 BMW Z4, and I'm looking to purchase a new head unit for my car where I can load at least 6 cd's simultaneously and has an AUX port for use with an iPod.

Thank you.

It's called a cd changer and the wiring to attach is in the trunk to front area bulkard…..

Realoem.com is a resource for part numbers etc

Yes, I understand what a CD changer is. I don't want to buy something I don't need when there are head units out there that do the same.

If you have a seperate amp, an aftermarket unit won't be able to work with that amp. (at least not to my knowledge, maybe something custom can be rigged up but I reckon that requires extensive knowledge from both the wiring, BMW WDS and maybe Ibus and Kbus system)
So that is something to take into account.
Maybe a BMW audio specialist knows more.

There are 3 radio systems that BMW uses in that year of car. I have a high end Carver DSP 10 speaker system. Only the basic radio and HiFi systems are capable of using an aftermarket radio.

Run your VIN to find d we hitch system you have. You can also see if you have DSP settings available via the left hand buttons. Only the basic 6 speaker radio system is plug and play with aftermarket radio. Think HiFi system has some things you need to do extra… Carver system is a complete gut/replace including speakers because of BMW using non standard impedance speakers….

Google and have fun…. Or not…
