2007 BMW Z4  [0.00]
Just bought my first 2007 Z4 3.0i SMG last month. I am the 3rd owner and it drives strong. Unfortunately the woman who owned it lived 2.5 miles down a dirt road, and the car was a daily driver. So the suspension needs some work and belly pan is gone along with the behind the bumper. And part of the exhaust is leaking with an lean code being thrown after the cat. And some interior parts are broken/cracked and are in process of being replaced. But the body is in great shape.

Got it crazy cheap so knew it needed some work to the tune of a few thousand dollars. It's a fun project car though and a great driver. This weekend I'm putting it in the air and getting underneath of it to have a poke around and fix some things.

Hey there! In the DC area and driving a 91k mile Z4M coupe as my daily driver. Interested in putting in some OEM+ upgrades to improve control feel, like new transmission mounts and a more precise shifter.

Hello from Sarasota, FL, recently purchased a low mileage 2004 Z4 2.5i. Recently had a 2010 Miata that was fun to drive but having more fun with the Z4. Great handling car with plenty of power. I have been enjoying the website's wealth of information and look forward to making the Z4 my own. Drive safe....

Hi,
I bought my 2008 Z4 3.0Si in 2010. It is a great car, still a lot of fun eleven years later.

Hi all, from Scotland, UK. Bought my first Z4 last week and loving it so far. E85 2006 facelift 2.5 Sport. 157k miles on the clock but she has been very well cared for by previous owners.

Out for a run yesterday with my son, roof down in October in Scotland is bracing!!

Hi All, I first got behind the wheel of my first Z4 during a work trip to Germany. Picked up my keys at Sixt rental car and imagine my surprise when a Z4 was sitting in the space number. It was fun trying to convince my coworkers I was supposed to be carpooling with to run back in to rent another car so we could all get to the office. Anyway, right after I got back from my trip, I started looking for a Z4 of my own, and ended up with 2003 Z4 2.5i, which I've been using as my daily driver ever since!

Bought this for 1500. Runs and drives but has some electrical issues. Working on it as I get time.

Hello, New to the site and a new owner of a black 07 Z4MR. I've owned a 06 Z4R and a 08 Z4MC in the past but decided it was time to get another one. I just ordered a pair of cat back mufflers from Stromung, and decals to cover the side reflectors. I'm just beginning to search for information on what to order to improve the shifter lever and linkage. Thanks in advance for all advice given.

Replace all bushings in shifter linkage and you should be good to go, parts alone are not expensive, but its quite a job to do it all, especially if you're doing it without a lift. I've also replaced the guibo and center support bearing while the drive shaft was out (it only makes sense because you're already in there). Good luck and congrats on the 07 Z4MR purchase!

'nuther newbie

Finally found the car I've been searching for. Had to be merlot red with a 3.0, tan top w/beige interior & wood grain. Pretty much found it, but was 400 miles away. Brother & I needed a road trip anyway. Other than being an automatic, it was pretty much what I was looking for. Bought it from private owner. Signed the paperwork, drove it home only to discover that both the husband & wife were listed as owners and only the wife had signed it. Sigh. Sent it (paperwork, not the car) back in the mail, expecting it back today so I can get it registered. Right now the only thing I can do is sit in the car and make vrooom vrooom sounds.
Anyway, will be looking for advise as to maintance, upkeep on this thing. Thanks all.

You'll find plenty of complaints about the Z4M shift action. I had a 3.0si which shifted sublimely, then got a Z4MC and couldn't find second gear to save my life. Supposedly the same transmission in both cars. I eventually put an AutoSolutions shift kit on the car. It's more precise now, a bit heavier too. Fits right in with the steering weight in my opinion.

Congratulations on your purchase of a true classic.
