2008 Z4MC - Space Gray, 46k miles

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
2008 Z4MC. Space Gray, Premium package, carbon leather trim, non-nav, heated seats, OEM BMW carbon fiber rear lip spoiler (very desirable and rare as hens' teeth nowadays), 46k miles. 1 of 64 Space Gray coupes worldwide, 1 of 48 in the USA. Driver's door skin repaired under previous ownership, and recently hit in right rear area under my ownership. Extensive photo gallery linked below has pictures of before & after of the recent damage. Car was repaired to a VERY high standard, and I wouldn't hesitate to keep it if I had a place to park it. I have commissioned a full appraisal report including paint meter readings, which I expect to receive any day now (inspection already completed). PS4S tires with plenty of wear left, Inspection 1 with valve adjustment completed at 32k miles. 99% stock - only aftermarket parts are motor & tranny mounts, lighted ZHP shift knob, and LeatherZ shift boot w/M-stitching. Superb overall condition.

It's difficult to put a price on this car given its recent accident. Seeing and driving the car would alleviate any concerns, and I'm confident that the appraisal report will reflect the quality of the repair and overall condition. I'm in rural southeast Arizona (about 90 miles southeast of Tucson) so seeing & driving it is a bit tricky. I'm listing it here now with an ask of $35k. I will likely be listing it on BaT in the coming weeks if a buyer is not found otherwise.

A crap-ton of pics located at the link below. Hit me up with any questions. I have a current Carfax report that I'm happy to share, just DM me your email address if interested. I also have a Blackstone oil analysis that was done about 10k miles ago and gave the motor a clean bill of health (i.e. no telltale sign of rod bearing wear).

Man - I sure wish I was in the market right now for an M coupe because I think that's an incredible deal on a gorgeous machine. BUT - probably another 18 months to 2 years before I can think about moving on up.

GLWS - I don't think it'll last long.

I'm contemplating whether to put the car up for auction on BaT, or continue to be patient for a private sale. The other option is that I just keep it. But that would mean my Golf R has got to go. The good news there is it's worth almost as much as I paid for it, and that's to Carvana, who would come and haul it away and hand me a check. The bad news is that I would miss that car and it's SO practical as my main daily. The collision repair was done SO well that I have zero qualms about keeping it, nor concerns about the next owner having any issues whatsoever related to it having been hit & fixed.

Sorry for derailing your thread! (we can move this discussion any other place )
But how is M2 comparing to Z? Is it any close? I've been debating this very same topic with myself for quite a while already And unfortunately our local BMW dealers don't allow M2 (even regular ones) for a test drive

What a gorgeous spec and tremendous owner! Half a mind to swap bits and start the journey anew in this example

Be a shame to let this go outside the community. I wager BaT might be less trusting even with top notch ownership and repair

Why wouldn't they let you test drive a car?

An Interlagos Blue Z4MC with over 100K miles just sold for $30K on BaT. Hold out for your price.

I'm still waiting on the full appraisal report I should have had about 2 weeks ago, the poor guy is buried. Once I have it I'll make it available to anyone interested in the car from afar.
And just about everybody is "afar" from me cuz we live in the sticks in southeastern Arizona, about 90 miles from Tucson.

On the other hand they saw that I came to them in Z4MC and they knew I'd very unlikely swap it to M2
