my newly bought 2006 bmw z4 3.0i :)
Hey guys,
How often should I go get an oil change the z4? I asked the dealer that sold to me told every 5miles. Just want to confirm with the Z4 wizards in here.. http://img269.imageshack.us/i/imag0035a.jpg/ http://img22.imageshack.us/i/imag0037u.jpg/ http://img651.imageshack.us/i/imag0036o.jpg/ http://img709.imageshack.us/i/imag0040ph.jpg/ |

EVERY 5 MILES!!!! i knew BMW dealers tries to screw us from time to time but thats rediculus lol!!
naaa just kidding ! i do it every 5000 miles even thoug it the computer and dealer sais 15000 or so, just to be safe and mainly if its city miles, hige way i can sqeez 7000 miles before i change it then reset my computer every two changes, as by then it will say your due. I may be over dooing it but i have a cooper S with over 200,000 miles and still pulles strong and has over 20psi of vacume so the piston rings are still in great shape. so it works for me to do it every 5000. |

Car looks good; congrats and welcome to the forum.
Every 5k miles is overkill and the dealer definitely won't be covering those services. They'll cover it every 15k miles, or once a year (if you put less than 6k miles on in a year). That second part is a new thing that I believe went into effect as of Sept. 1. As long as you're running a synthetic, I'd do an oil change every 7.5k miles; could possibly go to 10k if you do mainly expressway driving.

Congrats on the purchase.
Isn't CPO and maintenance programs completely different? CPO doesn't mean they'll be doing your maintenance till 12, at least to my knowledge. Unless you paid to extend that maintenance package as well... Anyway good luck

When I purchased my car (early August) you do get a CPO Warranty and I did have to purchase the maintenance package as it was not part of the deal.
