Z4M @ Oregon Raceway Park
Me hacking up one lap of the newly constructed Oregon Raceway Park in the Z4M at Friday's Club Carrera track day event. The video does not do this track justice. It is like a roller coaster. A lot of fun in the M. I recommend visiting. |

Great video. No hacking. Good driving.
Makes our little 1.6 track here look pretty small by comparison. Incidentally it's nicknamed the roller coaster right in the track drivers meeting room. |

I edited that on iMove. Kiteboarding? You must have been scanning my vids. Depends on if you are attacking land or sea but in a nut shell you start out with a small trainer kite then gradually move up to the real deal. After you learn the basics of launching, landing, self rescue and kite control and safety you are ready to strap on a board and learn to drag yourself around, drag back to your board when you loose it, carve turns, stay upwind and do tricks ride waves etc. It's not something you can easily learn to do on your own. There is a high potential of danger. I tell people if you want to know what it feels like to get drug by an out of control kite tie a rope to a car and have someone take off in it. Finding a reputable instructor in your area and taking lessons is the quickest and safest way to learn. It is definitely worth it the effort. There is nothing else like it. The new kites are very safe when you learn how to pilot them correctly and open up the potential for all kinds of fun. You can kite on a landboards, skate, snow, surf and twin-tip boards. |

Awesome! But where are all the other cars? And why did they put cones on the track surface?
(must be west coast thing ) EDIT: Spoke to soon. There are the other cars. Amazing you can get so much open track time!

It was a DE day. The track is bran-new and really technical so they laid down cones for the newbies so they could pick up the lines and breaking points faster. There are a bunch of blind corners and crests before turn in much like the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. There is not a lot to look at out there for visual markers so I was glad for the cones myself. |
