Any big differences between 2006 Z4M Roadster and an 07 or 08?

Hey Guys - I'm looking seriously at a 2006 M Roadster for purchase. I've done A LOT of reading on this, but wanted to get your input.

What are the main differences between a 2006 M Roadster and a 2007 or 2008 M Roadster? Were there any option differences? Packages that were not standard in an 06 that were standard in 07 or 08?

From what I can tell the only thing I can find is that the 06's without Nav don't have an auxillary port for ipod/mp3 hookup. But from what I found, that's a fairly inexpensive mod from BMW to add an aux port.

Anything else? Motor is the same, same tranny, same suspension, same brakes, tires, leather, etc. Did they make any changes?

07 and 08 have a aux port the you can plug your ipod into. Mind you it wont charge or allow you to change station with your wheel. But it is there.

No changes that I'm aware of except the aux port as stated above.

Are you sure about the electric steering? I have read numerous reviews and all they ever mention is the hydraulic steering in the M Roadsters...

I also was of the understanding that all Z4Ms had hydraulic steering, regardless of model year.

Pretty sure the '06 Z4M is hydraulic steering, too:

VIN decoder for my May06 production date Z4M says:

Installed Equipment:

MECHANICAL

3.2L DOHC 24-valve I6 engine w/double VANOS steplessly variable valve timing

<snip>

18" x 8.0" front M double spoke alloy wheels (styling 224M)
18" x 9.0" rear M double spoke alloy wheels (styling 224M)
Rack & pinion hydraulic power steering
4-wheel vented disc brakes
4-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS)
Twin dual M exhaust tips
etc, etc,

Thanks all...so, the consensus is that the only differences are:

1) no aux input for mp3/ipod (but easily added if you want)
2) No TPMS

Thanks All...this forum is a great place for information.
