Just got my carbon steering wheel in today. Will get the pics of it installed in a few days. We have a lot of custom pieces going into the interior over the next few months.

Ordered it from the guys at Bimmian.com. I had this one custom ordered for about $1600 and had the stripe embedded in the carbon and clear coat.

The first one I got did not fit correctly and they had another, they let me order a custom one.

https://bimmian.com/Accessories-for-...teering-Wheel/

All the guys over there did a really good job handling any issues and getting me what I wanted.

It is being installed this week and I will update the photos.

VMR 718s in a staggered 18 inch set, hyper silver - and a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports, all being installed as I type this. Should be ready lunch time, just in time for the weekend.

Got the car back and they look even better than I expected! Sadly, I tried a couple of snaps with the iPhone and they are awful. I'll throw the DSLR in the trunk and get some better pics over the weekend.

Me too - I can't see the wheels when I'm driving. Maybe I'll get the wife to drive back and forth in front of the house so I can admire them in motion!

After reading multiple posts recommending eBay CF engine covers versus other, more expensive name brand offerings (SGT, Tekarbon) due to poor fitment issues, wait times, as well as cost differential, I pulled the trigger on an eBay CF cover that ships from CA, and should arrive Thursday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have to use a dremel to get the cover to fit, but even if I do, it was only $100 shipped, compared to $230 plus shipping from other companies.

I also purchased a set of 5500K Cree LED bulbs to replace my dingy, OEM halo bulbs.

Which eBay buyer did you get this from? I'd like to pick up one myself if all goes well with yours.

Make sure they have sprayed the back with a heat protectant or it will turn yellow. I picked up mine up from tekarbon for about $165. They guaranteed it and we have been looking good for the past 6 months even with track time. You will need to replace the emblem with the 2.75 inch to make it fit the new cover. The original 3" is too big.

Here is the link to the specific one I purchased: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191886814003...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Thanks for the tip, I didn't think about that. Is there any type of spray that you would recommend I use if they didn't do it on their end?

I was happy with the other two items I purchased from Tekarbon, but just read way too many reports about fitment issues with their cover, and the eBay one was ready to ship immediately, versus a long wait time from Tekarbon. Hopefully it does the trick.

When you receive it, look at the back to make sure they have a thick coating of heat resistance on the back and then a good clear coat on the front.

My local guys said they are using a ceramic based clear coat for carbon fiber on high heat surfaces.

MC-156 - High Gloss Ceramic Clear.

No_Dominion do those LEDs for the halos through any codes? I'm rather disappointed with the halos compared to other BMWs. Any other fixes/enhancements you recommend?

Yes they will throw bulb out code. You can use Carly BMW app to code off the test for high beams. I did this with those bulbs and no bulb out on the dash.

Dang, that's nuts. I've had my pulleys sitting in my living room for over a week, just waiting to get them put on. Though I suppose the demand for these items has dropped over the years.
