I'm looking at doing that but it's pretty booked. Checking dates.

Just stayed at one of the lodges on the south rim in December. It’s hella cold, especially if you get up to enjoy the sunrise. We drove about 1 hr south to Williams AZ and took the kids to “Bearizona”. It’s one of those wildlife parks you drive through so see bears and wolves and all kinds of stuff. You can walk it as well. Kids loved it, was well worth the slight detour.
