New Performance Friction BBK

Can't wait for the install!

I have to say they stand behind their products. About 8 months ago, I upgrade to the pfc stock sized rotors all around. Two weeks ago I took the car in for track inspection and the backing plate ground into the rotor hat. They and bimmerworld acknowledged the problem as an issue with the early production front rotors and gave a full credit on my front rotors. Better still they let me apply the credit the BBK. Very pleased.

Looks very nice! Why did you decided on these versus the more popular brands like Stoptech or Brembo?

Excellent choice...these brakes are amazing. just a heads up the Zrated pads are good for nothing but the street, the don't even belong on autocross lot. Stick with 08 pads for any performance type driving. The now outdated 01's (believe 11 is successor) had more bite esp. on initial pedal application, but comparatively speaking pad life was shortened.

PFC's brakes are nothing short of amazing....your suspension/tires are now your weak point! Enjoy relearning that brake pedal, everything you once knew about 'er is NOW a thing of the past.

Enjoy/GL

That's all I took before dropping it all off at my indie. More to come.

My research showed this to be a great racing application. None are really bad, but these seemed to be used on a lot of race cars and my experience running the V3 rotors with the pfc08 pads was brilliant compared to stock. Now it should only get better.

Agreed on the z-rated pads. Had them first before the pfc08. Night and day. I wore down half the z-pad in one track day. Already have the 08's being installed with the BBK. Not sure if I will do BBK in rear since the pads and rotors are already upgraded, but I will see how it feels before making that call.

I also added r888's to the mix, so the weak link will definitely be suspension. But after upgrading the sway bars I really can't complain to much. With that being said, MCS is on mind and surely is the next step.

i had same setup as you before i made suspension upgrade to MCS ironically. H&R springs and front sway bar, e36 shims...it worked though the rear end always felt a bit too lively for me and too easily unsettled on track.

It's nice to know there are some quality options when it comes to a track oriented set of springs/dampners for the Z4m. Nothing id consider buying solely for the street driving, but something I'm willing to tolerate on street in order to get me where ever that may be I get to drive. ...Its a slipper slope!

My indie just sent me this pic to salivate over the weekend. I don't know how to resist doing the rear BBK now.

Got the car back and the brakes feel great. So much braking force without stabbing the brake pedal. Feel is perfect. Can't wait to get to Sebring at the end of the month.

So far, just have the z45 kit. Looking into rear kit though.

On a side note, there is a lot of rattle noise coming from the front pads in the calipers. I'm told its normal.

Oh yeah it a full race kit ( it's noisy as hell ) , but it performs flawlessly . I have loved mine, the noise is from the anti pad knock back design. I had the Z45 front and the Z28 rear for 5k track miles , always great pedal feel and have never once had pad knock back or brake fade . I just upgraded to their new larger rear kit as I have increased my power levels quite a bit . I'm selling my Z28 kit with rotors and 08 pads if you're interested . Congrats , I def like their new logo design better , but same great product .
