Buying my first CO kit
Hi there,
I know this might been asked a lot, but the search function didn't help to find what I need to know. I want to buy my first coilover suspension kit, and I am aiming towards the KW to be specific. My Z4M is a DD and might rarely see track. I am confused between KW V3 and KW CS. The CS comes with an optional camber plate kit but V3 doesn't. My wheel/tire combination: Wheels: AP-EX Arc 8 silver polished staggered set Front: 18x9 Rear: 18x10 Tires: Nitto Invo Tires Front: 245-40-R18 Rear: 275-35-R18 Should I get the CS with camber plates? Or get the V3? and how I will achieve camber adjustment if I need? camber plates kit or camber bolts kit? Does the V3's offer enough camber already when dropped? Will I need spacers in any of these? How much? I consider my stock suspension not too soft. Please help me, thanks. |

for your needs of rarely sees track = V3.
I always thought the V3 has the ability to use camber plates, but i may be wrong. Also dont forget V3 has lifetime warranty from KW while the CS do not.

Hi ASirvr4, coming from a person who have tried both kits with linear and progressive springs, I can help you with your question
Both KW V3 and CS have the same rear progressive spring, however the KW V3 have progressive springs in the front and the CS has a linear spring in the front with the rate of 400 lbs/inch. In order to get more info, you need to PM me your phone number to chat on whatsapp because it will be easier than be put into words. If you have a small vacation, you can also pop in to lebanon and ride in my car for some demo to have a better idea on what this coilover can do. mine is now equipped with KW CS with linear front and back springs 500F / 600R lbs/inch EDIT: just need to add that this is a very very subjective decision and it really depends how you want to use your car and what kind of ride you consider comfortable and such ... |

a word of note if you buy kw CS they cant support more than 700lb linear springs without internal modification if you ever require a much much stiffer spring... (this came from kw tech department)

I guess progressive are more street friendly? linear could be better at track but are they bearable on street?
tikamak, thanks for the invitation to Lebanon PM'd u my no. but though to discuss here so everyone can help and benefit as well. how about another option like ground control track school? they are linear front progressive back as well? they can support high spring rates? they are well priced btw comparing to KW CS bilstein pss10 are progressive front and rear, but how they are compared to V3? I want a coilover that is reasonably comfortable, but I won't regret it the moment I step into track for some fun. |
