And back to the tone, I know there's few threads here on this topic but I maintain my claim that any difference in acoustics can be attributed to chassis difference. The roadster just seems to mask the drone better, and in my case folded soft top in closed position + hard top may be the best combo. I suspect once I put in the Motorsport gears, the drone will be almost non-existent, which is consistent with Starscream experience/review.

Yes enough that it leads rationale people to make irrational car decisions lmao. I swore this is the last time I mess with this exhaust.

Mini update
I forgot I had some sound deadening material leftover from my old 3.0si so figured I’d lay some down in the trunk and over the rear wheel well (rear facing). Surprisingly it actually shaved off some of that drone I was experiencing. But for anyone else, I would guesstimate this stuff brings things down by maybe 10% so don’t expect any miracles.

Now if I’m lugging around in 4th at 30mph, I do get drone but who actually drives around like that? For me 1800-2000 is just a split second during acceleration so the Powerloops are now staying on

So there's some hope! Worth a shot if I ever have some lying around.

By this do you mean inside the trunk?

Yep, laid it down on the entire floor of trunk leading up to the bulkhead. Then did the side pockets by the tail lights and from there worked up the rear wheel well up to the shock mounts. But to be clear I didn’t apply any under the chassis or in between the fender liner.

I had a decent amount of leftover so I easily double layered most areas, and triple in some. I actually think the sides and wheel wells are just as important as the center since those are where the mufflers sit. But he sure to take your time and use the roller to flatten out the aluminum texture as best as you can.

Lastly I have the rear trunk carpet mat accessory so that’s another layer of sound absorption working for me.
