DIY: E85/E86 Cupholder Delete

My cupholders were rattling like crazy and they're basically useless, so I deleted them. Since cupholders were an option in many countries, there is a blanking plate that covers up where the cupholders go in the air vents. Here's a quick guide on how to delete your cupholders. This was done on my 2008 Z4M Coupe with a black dashboard and should apply to any E85/E86. If you have a beige or grey interior you can find the right color part numbers by looking these up on realoem.com

Parts Needed:
  • 1x 64226963779 Blanking Plate Left
  • 1x 64226918464 Blanking Plate Right (not pictured here, I got sent 2 LH pieces)
  • 2x 51161949793 Screw Caps (Optional but recommended)

Tools Needed:
  • Plastic Trim Tool (Fishbone)
  • Small Flat Head Screwdriver or Pick (not pictured)
  • Phillips Head Screw Driver
  • T20 Torx Driver

First Aid Box

With the very limited storage space in the E85/6 installing the under seat first aid box in a nice addition: BMW First Aid Box P/N 521 07 044 958 priced at around $30. I installed one under both the driver and passenger seats. Install details found here:https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94739

The mounting bracket is the expensive part!

I had one for sale here for months. Someone finally took it.
