Auto transport company recommendation
If you've had an experience shipping a car, can someone give me pointers to what company you used and contact info, please?
I'm looking at a car to be shipped from Indiana to CA. Thanks!

I arranged with Horseless Carriage, and a month later they haven't picked up. I am now waiting for GT Transport (GT-ms.com) to show up Mon / Tuesday to bring the car to Louisiana from PA - I'll let you know how it works out.

I used Intercity to get a car from Cape Cod to Indianapolis. Absolutely great service and the cost was comparable to all the no name open transport sketchy companies. Well worth it imo.

I've used Magic Carpet Auto Transport twice. http://www.magiccarpetautotransport.com/ They've been good both times with zero issues. Went off reviews and made my decision from there. I'd recommend enclosed shipping.

I recently shipped my ///M Coupe with DAS from central TX to WA. I went with DAS based on recommendations in this threat:
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=647997 Car arrived without any issues, DAS added 1 mile to the ODO. I went with enclosed trailer, top loading, drop-of and pick-up at the nearest DAS terminal. Call to make your reservation and mention discounts brought up in my referenced threat, I did and it brought down their initial quote. The only thing that did not go as promised was the GPS tracking website. Their tracking system showed my car was still in TX by the promised delivery date in WA. I received a call from the WA terminal 1 day past the expected arrival date that the car arrived and could be picked up. Upon delivery, they hand-washed my car (with my permission) before handing over the keys. They did a thorough cosmetic inspection noting every detail (even scratches inside the door handle cups) upon drop off at the terminal (before shipping). I would use them again.

Weird, my GPS tracking w/DAS updated every hour. Ask me how I know, lol
I actually had gone without a guaranteed arrival date (not my DD so I didn't care much), yet they picked up my car from the dealer the next day and got it across the country in 4 days. I was lucky to get express service without paying extra! |

In the process of a pickup with Plycon. They'll be here this week (hopefully). Gave me a slightly pricey quote, but they're the only people that could get here (MT) in 2 weeks notice. Also, they will get the car to CA in 4-7 days, compared to 2-5 week range I got from Reliable and others.

Inter-city Lines. East Coast based company.
I used them to ship my coupe last year from MD to NV. Service was excellent and very professional. I had an impromptu work related trip throw a wrench into the delivery date but they worked around that to make it happen. Car arrived w/out a scratch. Worth every penny. I highly recommend them. |

I used this company to ship my car out to Santa Cruz CA from Dallas TX. They were on time and didn't screw my baby up, which was my main concern. Check 'em out...

My experience with Gran Turismo Auto transport went great. They were cheaper than intercity, reliable, horseless carriage, and a few others - but they were also the fastest, and had the best communication of all of them.
I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again, especially when I saw the caliber of cars they were hauling with mine! |
