Storage question
Hello all.
I unfortunately my car has been in storage due to the winter. Hopefully I can get her out to drive in a month or so. In the mean time I want to put a battery tender on it. Do I remove the battery or can I put it in a closed trunk? I want to keep the car cover on it. Thanks for the help. |

Just connect the battery tender to the (+) and (-) jump posts under the hood in the engine compartment.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I have used a battery tender each winter since 2005. I have one of the BMW units that connects to the cigarette lighter. Fortunately the E85 cigarette lighter was designed for this and does not go to sleep after the car shuts down.

I connect mine to the battery terminals, gently close the trunk, cover and count the days until spring.

My wife works with a lot of very fine folks in her company’s Houston office and if things weren’t so busy for her we might be visiting there right now. Would love to see the place some time.
In the meantime, spring is worth the wait ! http://www.zpost.com/forums/album.ph...ictureid=37835

My battery power tender has an end I can hard wire in under the hood.
Unfortunately the positive looks to big to be able to put the end on it. Any suggestions or is there an alternative spot for the positive? Thanks for any help. |
