I Never had your temp problems, and I still believe your temp problems are likely because you have your primary catalysts, seen it 100 times and most tuners will tell you that close coupled cats cause heat issues like no other.

-It's certainly a factor. I plan to do headers at some point, but for the time being both I (and ESS) would want to know how to get a hard-tracked CFR500 (VT, etc.) to run within acceptable heat ranges without the additional mod of headers. If it's a simple change like the diverter valve or a different style of oil cooler, then that would be much easier than a header swap.

Great post and journal. Helped me out a lot. Thanks!

Reminds me back in 2001 when I spent $33000 on my S2000 and another $28000 in mods for it back in the day. All it got me was into Import Tuner, Super Street and numerous awards at HIN and I loved the car and how it performed and looked. Now fast forward 10 years almost and I have another Roadster that in stock fashion eats the S2000 for breakfast and NSX...lol

Congrats on the S2k achievements! But, are you saying that you spent 33k on a S2000 and it still cannot beat a stock z4m---or are you comparing a stock s2k to a stock z4m? I'm hoping it's the latter! 33,000. Wow. I'm assuming Comptech S'Charger, Mugen, Amuse, or J's racing everything.

Thanks man, I appreciate your feedback on the journal.

Nice work on the S2K. The awards and magazine spreads had to be gratifying . I think it would be awesome to land a spread in magazine. It would be some sort of confirmation that the work done was accepted and admired.

It would be cool to seem some pics of the S2000, and your M3. Great line-up of cars!

hey crfine, does your kit have the same vortech bypass valve? You guys should keep an eye on these. I had a lot of problems with mine. I would recommend buying a hand vacuum pump to check it's operation from time to time. The diaphragm likes to get ripped if it sees manifold pressure without having the vacuum line hooked up and the O ring that seals the plunger likes to disappear, both can cause boost leaks.

Thanks for the tip.
I have done a ton of modification when it comes to suspension, brake, etc... but I am new to the FI world. I wll look into this.

I mean't stock for stock. I had Mugen and J's everything..I had two sets of Endless 6 pot brakes and even was running Spoon calipers for a year. I had Spoon race car wheels from the actual Spoon cars back in the day. Was so nice and quick but stock VS stock its no comparison to the Z4M. I had ASM Spec wheels, yada yada yada...

Thanks. Its in the 2004 Import Tuner and Super Street issues. I sold the S2000 in 2005. Over 5 years ago and was at the top of the game back then. Yeah I got a lot of huge discounts back in the day and recognition but honestly I spent way to much on the car. But I liked it and its performance so I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

One of my friends Tommy from Irvine made cover a year ago and was well deserved. Turbo and everything. Crazy car.

That's a vortech valve. It only leaks if it break, but there's a few ways that can happen.

Thanks, I'm really liking the G2's. The wing was a funtion piece, but it ended up looking pretty good too.

Hi David,
Thank you for checking out the mod journal. I have a little over 5,000 miles on the engine with the S/C kit. The oil temps are cooler than stock and the car is performing very well. I am very happy with the kit and the guys @ ESS really know what they are doing when it comes to our cars. I recomend you contact Roman with ESS for a more info on how they tune. If you want his info send me a PM

Cheers,
CF

cfrine88, have you done you inial supercharger oil change @ 2500miles?? ive done about 1500 miles since my install but they've been 1500 hard miles, ess say the charger oil must be changed from the run in oil @ 2500miles, also are you checking the s/c oil level? have you noticed any oil useage? i have checked my oil yet but i will get it changed next year as the car is currently in winter storage, just wondering where you are with this?

after looking at my install it seems the relocated powersteering tank i now in the way of getting to the dipstick!! im REALLY hoping checking the oil wont mean having to remove the power steering tank every 1000miles, this would really wear thin imo!! im hoping i can losen the p/s bracket to get enough movement to allow me to get to the dip stick, maybe you have sometips for me if youve been checking your s/c oil reguarly!

I changed mine early @ 1500 before a road trip and then again @ 5000. I have not noticed any significant usage between changes.

Sent you a more detailed PM.
