I will say it aesthetically turned out exactly how envisioned it months ago. Next up is custom seats and door cards. And the M steering wheel will most likely receive some attention as well.
How long did it take to swap soft top fabric? I’m dreading the job on mine.

I had an upholstery shop install it for me. I could have installed it with major help from Don Wright and Boris but would have been over two days.

It was prudent to have the shop install it so then it would it easy. I don't recall the total hours Don mentioned but I think it was around 12 hours.

Thanks, I am leaning toward finding a suitable used replacement (frame and all). It’s just damn near impossible to find a good condition one in my original fabric color.

You want to contact sportdesignauto in eBay motors. He's located in Mississippi and ships very fast. He usually has a few Z4s that are being parted out.

If he has what you are looking for he will ship it!

Porsche calipers that have been collecting dust along with track rubbers for last 2 years finally mounted. I run 18x9 square rear setup for both street (style 32) and track (style 224) but only the track wheels clear without spacer so might be looking for new set of wheels soon.

Friend of mine discovered an old set of genuine SSR Type C-RS he had in storage from years ago but his car has been sold since. I asked if he’d consider selling…

Doing a test fit before committing but so far so good. Only need spacers now because the rims came with 265 r-comps but I plan to swap out for 255s which means it should bolt up and clear without spacers.

It wasn't exactly a purchase but I finished hand waxing my car today. It's the first time I've waxed an entire car in, well, a very very VERY long time. It was a bit of a PITA because the car has a clear bra and the wax left a nice little white line all around the edge of it. Took a bit of time to get all that out.

Good job on a little TLC. The little MC is a breeze compared to an SUV. It takes me almost 6 to 8 hours to hand wax my X5, which is why I no longer hand wax it in a long time. I now just use the 303 SiO2 spray protectant after a wash on all the cars.

Yes, I need to find an alternative to hand waxing. The clear bra has certainly done its job protecting the front of the car, but it does cause issues with carnuba waxes. Plus it is a few years old and is starting to lift at a few spots. I'd like to have the car properly detailed, then have some easy-ish way to maintain it. My 996 has a 'ceramic' coating, which is peeling in places and has its own maintenance issues. Not sure I'm in love with either approach to protection.

My MC don't have anything on it other than annual cleaner carnauba wax until 3 or 4 years ago when I started using the 303 due to having a kid and no time for car care. The only cosmetic issue is a peppered front bumper, which I can and intends to get it resprayed in the future. Surprisingly there's only a very few minor paint chips on the hood that got touched up. So I guessed there aren't anything that won't be without it's own issues? I was considering ceramic coating for a while but ultimately decided that it wasn't worth it. Thanks for the info about the peeling issues that can come with ceramic. For now, I'll just use spray protectant until I have time to wax it.

Replaced both front and rear roundels. Surprised to see there weren’t any nuts behind front roundel. It had the same rubber grommets keeping it in place like the rears. Wondering if this was a design change or if the PO swapped em.

You need to stop by and help me paste wax my '53 Coupe De Ville. Only do it every couple of years now. A spray ceramic coating does the job now, and only takes an hour or two.......
