iPhone Music Aux Port 2007 Z4M Coupe

I'm trying to play music on my 2020 SE iPhone using my 2007 Z4MC's radio Aux input. I found a non-Apple brand cable that connects to my iPhone charging port as well as my car's auxiliary audio input and cigarette lighter ports. The cable worked beautifully for a week and then mysteriously stopped working. I thought it might have been defective so I bought another one and had the exact same issue. Does anyone have any product recommendations?

I had a lot of trouble finding a good lightning to 3.5mm cable. Most don't have good digital to analog converters in them. Unfortunately the one I found that ended up working is no longer available. Using the official Apple adapter and a traditional 3.5mm cable should work though.

Ultimately I ended up putting a BlueBus in my coupe. It seamlessly adds Bluetooth audio like it was factory and no more messing with cables!

Just go Bluetooth. I have a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the aux jack. It’s powers on with ignition, hardwired to fuse box and all tucked away out of sight. Bought a new hvac trim for $15 since the aux port is no longer “accessible”.

Thanks. I ended up buying an Apple Lightning to 3.5mm adapter and a 2' 3.5mm cable. Plug and play. Works like a charm. Cost me $18.

I use Tunai Firefly units in several of my cars. Great solution if you ask me.

I bought the plug and play Tunai Firefly LDAC Bluetooth adapter on Amazon for $40. It works really well and fits perfectly (I didn't need to use the 12" 3.5mm extension cable it came with to hook it up).
