JayEmm reviews Z4M Roadster

JayEmm just posted this review on YouTube of the Z4M Roadster. Thought I"d share. Probably the first time I've had a review scoop on Bimmerpost

He's a bit critical of the car, not always undeserving but when he compared the comfort level and space of the interior unfavourably to the S2000 he lost me a bit. I've driven both also and maybe its just a matter of driver dimensions vs the cabin but the S2000 was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever been in and made the Z4 feel like a luxury barge in comparison.

I didn’t expect the review to be so critical of the car when pushed. Could this example need front end work, new tires or an alignment I wonder?

A 2006 S2K was my car before I got the Z4M. No way the Honda is more comfortable. Much more like a go cart in comparison. Plus the engine is even more weak below 5k. I remember test driving both 3.0si and M models while I had it. I would get back in afterwards and think "wow this car is weak" in comparison. And I really enjoyed my S2K. I also found his comments about driving at 7-8 tenths instead of thrashing it interesting. This is exactly the opposite of Hammond's comments on Top Gear when he said in order to really enjoy the M you had to "grab it by the scruff of the neck"...

He does drive Ferrari's and Porsches regularly...I will say I am more critical of my Z4M Roadster on hard throttle grip especially mid corner if I drive it after pushing my 911 hard. Opposite feeling when I get into it from literally any other car including my 128i.

Hammond and Jason Plato both reviewed the Z4 and Z4M against similar roadsters so their comments show balance and are fair. No matter what you drive, a better car can be found somewhere. If the opinions of this review are based on the performance of dissimilar and more expensive cars, it’s not a balanced review.

I watched this last night and immediately thought wtf? That first claim of having a very tight interior really threw me off. I'll admit it's a long time since I've been in an s2k, but I have been in plenty of Miatas (NA/NB/NC), Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice, etc. and by comparison the Z4 has an ENORMOUS interior.

Then when he started talking about how the sport button ruins the car, I had to turn it off. It became obvious that he and I have very differing opnions.
