Passenger Seat Occupancy Bypass

I'm looking to install Sparco buckets for the driver and passenger sides. I'm wondering if the wiring harness and plugs are the exact same on the e86 z4m as the e46 m3.

I previously ran this occupancy bypass emulator in my e46 m3. Does anyone know if this is compatible in our e86 z4m cars?

At a quick poke around realoem I couldn’t find the mat for a part number reference. The prefacelift z4 has a different connector than the facelift non M that I know so it might also depend on the year of the e46m3 when comparing to the z4m. I’d start there first to just cross reference part numbers. For what ever reason or another my car wouldn’t recognize the emulator so I sourced a mat and put it under the sparco cushion on my 03

Edit: found this for facelift years:

This link has both pre/post facelift offered
https://airbagdoc.com/product/seat-o...mw-z4-e85-e86/

this is for all e46 and includes e53 but not e86/86

Plugs between the two are different so that would be a no for you, e46 plugs are different that z4M plugs

My plan is to source a mat, especially since I may have my kiddo ride shotgun with the airbag off.

A few years back I tried looking for another mat and found out the mat by itself had been discontinued. I picked mine up from a bmw parts dept out of Texas. Now you might have to dissect a seat bottom in order to get it. My dealer by me only would order the bottom seat portion even when the mat alone was available.

That's what my research found. I bought a set of seats from a regular Z4 to use it's manual seat rails (shared). Hoping the occupancy mat is a shared part

Head to 8 mins of this video, i used this little box.... then reset the system using INPA
literally about 4 seconds of this video and you'll see the box, i cut the wiring off the stock seat occupancy and soldered the connects this box ( meaning the car loom is untouched and it simply plugs in ). I also used all the stock seat belt reciprocals so no seat belt issues. Hope this helps. Prewarning fitting aftermarket seats to this car is a PITA, the pedals are offset and to get the seat centred to wheel etc take ALOT of time and effort, not to mention getting the electrics to play ball. GL DM if you need more info and maybe a like on the YT channel :-P
