FEELER: TCK D/A Coilover Partout
Recently I've been contemplating parting out my TCK D/A coilovers due to the fact that they're not as comfy as stock suspension, and that as of late, the rears have developed more of a valve-tick noise.
IF I do part these out, I will definitely miss the handling And I would also have to figure out a way to get more negative camber (assuming I go back to stock suspension for the time being). I still have my OEM suspension, but I'm putting this out there for the local NorCal folk in case anyone might be interested. I'd be willing to consider trade and/or cash for some lowering springs that have higher spring rates than stock. The TCKs will come with TCK camber plates and rear height adjusters (which were additional-cost options from TCK). For the fronts, you'll have an option of 400# springs or 550# (as I have both and will provide with sale/trade). The rears only have 500# springs available. They still perform amazingly, despite being used for ~ 30k miles total (mostly street use; estimated 20 track days total). If straight up purchase, I'm thinking of letting them go for only $1350 or so as-is, everything inclusive. Let me know if ya'll are interested, thanks! If no interest, then I will just hold onto them. Less work on me anyhow lol Last edited by mfanatic325; 08-22-2012 at 11:37 PM.. |

lol you're welcome to send me a PM with any questions you might have. Maybe that'll help you make a decision (whether yes or no).
I just want a smoother softer setup now that my MR2 has been sold and I daily the M. But again, I still want to have something decent, and jumping back to stock would probably depress the crap out of me lol. Car handles pretty amazing at the moment. Kind of reluctant myself... It would be tough going back to OE.

Lon,
I was thinking along that line. Instead of selling, I was going to install it on my son's E36 M3. One of his front strut has a hairline crack by the lower strut bolt. I think it was not installed properly. The ride wasn't too harsh for me DD. I wanted to go with AST 4150 but can't seem find much details on AST. |

hehe, I bit the bullet and get angel eyes done @ Takarbon too Rob
(while I was down in SoCal for Buttonwillow track day anyway). I'll hold onto the TCKs until someone wants 'em. Too lazy to swap out the suspension anyway |

I test-drove a stock Z4M a few days ago. If you go back to stock suspensions, you're really gonna hate them. By the way, are those front springs the same ones I sold you? If they are, I think they're actually 450lbs and 500lbs. And make sure the RSM's top nuts are tightened properly.

Did he provide a plug for connection? I told Eric this is better if you need to take the light for other repair like body work. |

If ride comfort is a concern, why don't you try putting the 450lbs front springs on since you already have them? Or even try 400lbs front springs. That'll make a big difference in ride comfort and you could still track your M.

Now I'm worried I don't want to go through the hassle of taking off the front bumper and shipping the headlights... I don't think he did plug connection? I only saw one wire IIRC coming out of each headlight Quote:
hahaha we'll see. |

haha interesting. If I get desperate enough, perhaps.
I'm now even thinking about having them all rebuilt. Maybe it'll fix the ticking and the refresh might turn out to improve handling even further? Wonder who can get them rebuilt for me. |
