Misc Toronto Ramblings and Other Stuff....
Yeah got the itch to get the Z4M out. Seen some others with their summer rides out. But I don't think I will do it just yet. I think that Mother Nature will hit us one more time. And it will be frustratin' to get out only to have to put away again. Looking forward to driving this summer though........ I hope I can get more seat time than last year.
Just wanted to know if any of you Toronto guys are interested in something more low key and not so planned. More just like hanging out talking cars, grab some food kinda stuff on a monthly basis or something. Even if it's an early morning sprint on Sat or Sun morning to a GOOD coffee shop for an hour or two. Thoughts !??!?!? Just thinking of maybe trying to do something that doesn't take up a pile of time for those of us that have a lot on the go....... Ok, lastly a small request. If anyone comes across or knows of anyone selling a BMW E38 7-series (1995-2001), I'm looking. But it can't be a pile of crap body wise or interior and no accidents. I've been all over the classifieds for the last 6 month and haven't gotten there yet that meets what I'm thinking of. Anyways, if you know of anyone dumping one, please drop me a line...... |

Hi Tom, I am all up for low key Saturday/ Sunday morning coffee meet up. Same thing as you though, can't wait to take it out. I still think we are getting one more snowy day. I will keep an eye in the car auctions for a 7 series. Got us a nice 1996 MB S320 with like 96K clicks. Was a really nice car. Cheers |

I had mine out yesterday, it still needs a good cleaning but I put about 20 miles on it. A nice cruise down Niagara Parkway to Queenston and back. We've had enough rain down here so the salt should be all off the road so I went for it.

I would definitely be up for something low key like that. These day long cruises to the escarpment are just impossible to work out. Being in the GTA east area means over an hour drive just to start the cruise.
A pop in style gathering over coffee or a beer would be way more up my alley. Something to the east end if there was enough interest that way. Had my ride out 3 days this week. Roads are dry and pretty clean out my way although to road conditions themselves are brutal this year. Lots of heaving I guess. Also need some warmer temps so it doesn't take forever for the car to warm up! |

I would normally been out by now, but the older I get, the later I take my summer toys out. This year likely i'll legitimately wait till the salt is all gone like mid May. (and you know... other aspects of life)
Any informal meets I'd like to show up

I had the same sort of idea but a bit different. I'm a big F1 guy/car guy and partner in a machining shop...we are looking to expand and looking for a bigger building...buy...not rent. When find a building that suits us...plan is to turn a small bit of it into a sort of club house etc where I can get away on Sat/Sunday mornings and watch F1 qualifying/race...then...play with the toys...custom this or that...a CNC can build it and go for drives with fellow Z4 owners/Porsche etc owners etc. Just need to find a damn 6000 foot building in Mississauga near the airport that is for sale...not rent...and not a "condo"...it's actually shocking how hard it is to find that...

Will do my best to make it. Both kids are in travel baseball this year, so free weekends will be limited.

I'm in too. I could do a local drink or coffee. I'm in Mississauga. I'm also happy to find excuses to go for a cruise as well.
My wife just got her own ride for these sorts of things. We are going out for our first drive of the year on Saturday night this week and would be happy to meet up sometime early evening to talk cars. Any other couples do the his and hers car thing? |

@ Eau_Rouge111 I just sent you a message.
Ok looks like we can make this happen. Very cool. On another note, found my BMW e38 7-series. Apparently one of only 24 ever made with this color combo (black on tobaccobrun). Needs work but I'm excited and yet scared. Biggest land yacht I've ever owned. And it's a V12 to boot. |

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a 6000 foot building in mississauga near the airport that is detached...not a "condo"...and at $300 a sq foot-ish going rate...so not cheap! We are looking...again would be cool to have a dedicated room with a few flat screens and F1 on Sunday morning meets with the gearhead crowd...hope we can pull it off...the Zpost crowd would be the first to know if/when we do |

Me too out here in St. John's. Most all of the snow is gone but its still only +1 or 2C at best. So my car is still in the garage under the cover.
But as a pleasant surprise, I did see a very clean pre-facelift grey Z4 cruising along Waterford Bridge Road here last evening around 7:00 pm. The weather is still very cool so the driver had the top up. But these cars are still eye catching machines. And I say that after having seen a new G29 Z4 at the local dealer over the weekend.

Yup, I have been to Bimmer Heaven and met Phillip. Bought parts from there.
Figuring mid-May for a first flight in the Zee..... if I'm lucky. May weekends are booked solids right now. |
