Opinions on Sparco Speed 2 Seats?

Has anyone ever considered Sparco Speed 2 Seats as an alternative to Recaro Pole Positions? Anyone know if they will fit our cars?

I could've swore someone here was actually selling theirs, you should look up the thread and ask him on his experience.

16.8lbs

sizes are here. The sparco torino 2s are almost 2" wider at the shoulders, and they rubbed a little, so the speed 2 seats should fit well

I don't see any brackets listed for the Z4, so would we have to custom fabricate them? I also wonder if it's possible to transfer the heating element so we can still have top-down fun in 40 degree weather.

I'd love the extra lateral support versus the stock seats on my 3.0i, as well as weight savings and new look.

you COULD transfer the heating elements fairly easily

VAC motorsports makes some sort of brackets for the z4, but you have to keep in mind these are mounted from the bottom

You gotta do background research/homework on the dimensions of the seat(s) in question. I compared my Sparco Rev seats to the Recaro Pole Positions before I ordered Macht Schnell floor mounts and took one of them out of my MR2 and put it into the M coupe

I ordered sparco tecs the other day, but i was just trying to figure out what will happen to the seat belt reciever? I know it bolts into the factory track but it must have wires attached to it, so in order to use it you must cut or disconnect the wires. does anyone have ANY experience with this subject?

This video shows how to remove the OEM seats from the car and transfer the seatbelt receptacle hardware and wiring

Stock heated and powered M seats weigh ~57 lbs.
Typicaly fixed-back bucket seats weigh 15 lbs. excluding mounts and other hardware.
Just FYI

Wow... that looks fairly straight forward! Thanks! Now I just need to figure out how to transfer the heating element and airbag sensor into the new seats. Hopefully it will be obvious when I do it. I really hope I don't have to mutilate anything. Art is not my forte.

I didn't want to mess with the airbag stuff, so I just didn't transfer my other Sparco Rev seat over from my MR2. Only did the driver seat. Figured the OEM seat was pleeeeenty good for passenger

lol yeah, I made sure to watch the video plenty of times before I actually attempted the DIY. Didn't want to end up with any CEL's and/or malfunctioning safety system. That would've been all bad...
