Moving to Italy
My wife is Italian and wants to move back to her home in Abruzzo. I would like to bring my Z4 (Canadian spec - speedometer and odometer are in KM). Has anyone imported a car to Italy? Any advice? On past trips we have rented a car - mostly BMW's but sometimes Alfa's. I really like the look of the MiTo but they are Fiats underneath and after a few thousand km they get soft and lazy.
My Z4 is a 2004 but only has 44,000 km on it it is a 3.0 and apart from nav is nicely equipped. I use a TomTom for navigating when I need it. Grazie |

Translation I did not understand the question, but registering a 'car outside the EC is a bitch, above all in large DTT as Milan, although the Z4 does not think there is just to die for, especially supporting

Old question
In fact, it would have been easy to do as the only spec changes to homologate the 2004 Z4 were to have headlight washers (with Xenons) - which I have and activating the rear foglamps. The radio change is even easier as it only takes a few button presses. Since the car is Canadian spec it is already in KM.
However since I did not get any help from BMW or elsewhere, I gave the car away. I am now driving a Canadian spec M3. |

You shouldn' t have to ask Bmw Italy, but directly to Bmw Germany, and rely on a private agency near the border, Chiasso or Como, for example !!
The problem isn' t the spec Canadian, but the Swiss plate: because are out of Europe (also Montecarlo !!), the DTT (Italian-TUV !!) must test realy the car; with european car, ONLY the documents !! And the controls aren' t the same in all City, also change from every single engineer that make the test: usually, MIlano it' s too hard, Bologna very easy, etc. !!!
