Advice on a potential Z4 3.0 Si Roadster buy
I found a Z4 for sale with a known history (oil change receipts, etc). 2007 Alpine White/Beige/light poplar trim/ 6 speed 3.0Si. Power top; power heated seats. 52,000 miles.
Second owner (she bought it in 2008). Looks and drives great, could use a new set of front tires. Everything works. Overall condition 8.5/10 (or better). Premium and Sport packages, but no sport seats. Is $14K fair?? Car is located in Texas. Last edited by silvius; 04-14-2019 at 02:40 AM.. |

I would consider that price a dealership price. I would saw with the tires needing replacement closer to 11500 would be right. But anything under 13 would be fair.

It is getting harder to find these in nice shape, especially low mileage ones. But I hear you on the pricing, probably closer to 12K.

No sport seats would be a huge deal for me, perhaps not for you. Also those wheels are my least favorite BMW OEM design in the history of the marque, but again, YMMV.
Price doesn't sound out of line to me at that mileage and condition. 52k is barely broken in. Many miles of smiles left in that beauty. Is all other maintenance up to date other than front tires? Is the full history available? That would help propel it to the high end of the price range.

I hear you on the sport seats; I highly prefer those and I wish it had them. Oddly enough, at least within a 200 mile radius of me when one does come up for sale with the sport seats it always seems to be an automatic, which for me is a no go. To me the factory two piece wheels that it has are just okay. I definitely want the sport package and I prefer the facelifted model-- and those wheels were almost always what was included with the sport package 2006 and after.
The other maintenance is up to date at least as far as fluid and filter changes. I didn't go through all the paperwork yet, but there was a pretty good documentation going back to 2008. Thanks for the input! |

You're not getting robbed at $14k but not a great deal either. I'd say it's within the range but no sport seats would be a deal breaker for me as well. If you absolutely love it and the maintenance record is there go for it.
