NorCal: Post-New Year Cruise
Hey Norcal Zposter’s!
Let’s organize a meet after the new year. Skyline and Hwy 1 from HMB to Santa Cruz should be good fun. Who’s in? Jay |

Interested so long as my car is not down for repairs (suspension rebuild impending). Last time we got members together was the fall of 2016, about time for a repeat.

Definitely interested if weather permits. No fun with washouts, cold, and bad conditions and summer tires. I've seen too many things turn bad. We cancelled a run just s few weeks back for this reason.
If it's kind last winter let's push to March. |

I'd love to come out, too! Sounds like a fun time. I'm terribly inconsistent on the forum though, if this starts coming together and I don't respond here - would someone please ping me via PM? Or via text - four-one-five 7-four-7 one-7-two-7? Please? Thanks!

There is also a cars-and-coffee scheduled for January 6th... anyone else going? If we caravan, we can basically build a little Z4 section. Link: http://www.gmpcars.com/cars-coffee/

Well it's hella raining now. After seeing the destruction on this route before I'd say move it to spring.

After driving my z through a snowstorm, this rain is nothing! But I definitely agree that the meet should happen after the rainy season ends.

I remember driving to Laguna Seca with my wife a few years back, same cars, different tires. I was working as hard as I could not to hydroplane and die at 55, my wife is perfectly capable and happy to drive 75 without any hydroplaning due to the fact that her tires pushed water away much better than mine. My tires were much better on track in the dry, but not in the rain! The route we'd take is subject to flooding, mudslides, fallen trees, and silt. Extreme summer tires and 50 degree or lower temps plus wet weather don't mix, in fact it's more or less same as driving in snow/ice. I know I'm being opinionated, but after seeing two accidents due to the interaction of these variables on drives (it's hard to drive like grandma even if conditions require) I'd rather mitigate the risks by choosing another time of year. |

So all, Feb is almost halfway done, and we are currently blessed with some beautiful weather. Who all is down for a meet at Alice's sometime before the end of this month?
