Looking goooooddd!! not something that would work with my Roady but it looks like some real quality work. Are you going CF after this (you mentioned going lighter), or would you hollow it out? Just curious as to what you're thinking about doing to them because I have a few projects of my own at home.

Thanks..
No, not planning to hollow out, that would be too much work.
On the next one I'll reduce the sectional profile on the center section, it doesn't need to be so thick in some areas.
I'm being cautious however as I dont want to compromise structural integrity.
There will be quite a bit of downforce load on it.

CF may be a possibility down the road, but it would be done as a layup & vac bagged.
I'm working on a couple of leads to find someone local.
The only way ill do it is if I can oversee whats going on.
I will never farm it out to a nameless 3rd party over whom I have no control.

Hmmm... Couldnt you do a very thin aluminum piece on the bottom kinda like a large plate (after reducing the center profile)? Or would that not help too much with the rigidity of it?
Maybe like a coin/coin and a half thick aluminum?
I know aluminium isnt that strong, but I would think a large one piece on the bottom of it all would help hold it together. There is another way I'm thinking of as well. But that would just take forever to do.

Update #4 Mounted

Got the painting prep done.
I decided to go black for now, so here are a few in primer loose on the car.

.
...and here we are done in black and mounted.
I was running short on time with a few track days coming up and I didn't want to miss the chance to get some real world testing done.
So, instead of sending out to the paint shop for final prep and paint I went with Plasti-dip for now.

The center section is bolted through to the grill section.
The side pieces are mounted with d.sided trim tape up the arm and across the top edge above the fang.
There are supports on the bottom that fasten under the fang as well.

Nice work. I think the plastidip works as its a nice contrast. Easy to repair as well.

On another note, where'd you get the black interior bits for your front lights? Or is that also DIY ?

Yeah, the plasti works pretty well.
I did a few normal wet coats, then I did a fog coat from about 16" and it created a nice texture.
I think I'll keep it this way.

The lights were done by Tekarbon when I first got the car.

I'll have several track days in soon, so I'll have more info then.
I also want to confirm how well it stands up to the downforce and getting chunks of rubber etc bounced off it.
My first impressions with the black were good, but the more I look at it the more I think I'll do it body colour eventually.

That's the ultimate game plan.
I want to run it for while at the track to make sure it will stand up OK.
I also have a couple of tweaks to make and test before making it available.

Support on underside and d.sided trim tape on surface.
Completely reversible with no harm to finished surfaces.
