Rubber windshield trim
A question to anyone who has replaced their rubber trim around the windshield on their Z4. Has anyone else noticed a big increase in wind noise with the top down? Is this how they sounded when new? My old trim was flat and worm and the wind noise wasn’t bad at all. The new one does stick up about half an inch higher and the wind noise coming over the top of the windshield is significantly louder than before. I am sure it’s in correctly. It’s tight and flat against the windshield. Maybe I just need to get used to it.?

Picture……..
If it’s flat against the windshield… how can it be sticking out higher than the previous… I changed mine a few years back and there was no difference between before and after.

Agreed. Mine used to be loose (slightly crooked windshield from factory, thanks BMW) and would partially pop out on occasion to create more wind noise. 1/2 in and flush are not the same thing.

Here is the new seal. My old one was so worn that most of it was gone, only what was in the channel remained. The new seal looks so much better. It’s just a different experience with the wind coming over the top of the winshield. It may be normal just not what I am used to.
