Oil Brand Difference
For those who have changed their "lifetime" gearbox oil, what oil did you use and did you notice a difference afterwards? Did gears shift smoother? Any other improvements?
Anybody notice any difference changing the diff oil ? ....quieter rolling noise, less whine (if applicable)? From what I've learned (in 2 weeks), there are three basic oils out there to choose from: OEM, Redline and Lube Moly? I'm looking for recommendations from the voices of experience.... thanks for your help from a new zed owner. |

Haven't changed the tranny fluid on my Z4m yet, but I did choose to put Redline oil in my previous car; 330ci 5 spd. I noticed a immediate improvement with a smoother shift.

Redline D4 ATF is what you would use if you decided to go with Redline.
and yes, it is automatic transmission fluid for the manual as well. heres a link with some experiences and a DIY: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...ansmission+oil |
