Which makes me wonder if the gas is really old too! Mix some new gas in there asap in case it's running on really old gas. Last edited by Jumbosock; 06-10-2012 at 03:43 AM.. |

Well I got the car!! I will post a thread with pic's all around hopefully in the next day or two. I did not think I would get the car until tomorrow or Friday, but people were playing a joke on me and the car arrived today at noon. I got a text with the picture below, showing the car ready and in Omaha.
It is better than even the stories. It is a time-capsule. Absolutely brand new. Once in a life-time find. I took it for a short drive and went back to work, but I am ecstatic. Like I said, I will do the car justice with a full story and pic's as soon as I can, but it is amazing. |

Geez, what a beauty! Can't wait to see more, and of course the obligatory pic of the odo! Totally agree with the thought of getting a clear bra on the car and a few other pieces of shielding.

So the story I am told, is that the car was owned by a guy in Chicago with multiple cars that he did not drive - Just display pieces. Climate controlled garage, no mileage whatsoever. Oil was changed twice, brake fluid flushed and the car was dry-washed a number of times. He decided he wanted a new display piece so notified them that he would be trading the car. Crazy. The car was serviced and checked out and then driven to me. The drive from Davenport, Iowa to Omaha (about 350 miles) doubled the mileage on the car!! Ha! We changed out all the other fluids and I then put 50 miles on it before I thought to shoot an Odometer photo - hence the reason it is all the way up to 700 miles. When I received the car - nothing had ever been placed in the trunk, I think the passenger seat has never been sat in... it has new car smell. My god - It is just insane. Almost hard to decide to drive it - but I got over that. I think the tips about placing a clear bra, the window tint and also some extra floor mats etc would be really good ideas. Here are a few more pic's. I will change the oil again between 1 and 2K miles and keep looking after it like a new car.

Another tip: when parking you want to more or less park with a view into the rear seat of the car next to you (or where the rear seat would be). Most of us have scraped fangs, and it usually happens in the first several hundred miles. Remember that hood is looooonnnnngggg!
What a great find! My fav color, just insane like you said! Enjoy! |

+1 When you and Skelekitty mentioned that it was a huge eye opener. We are basically riding "in the back seat" right in front of the rear wheels. So park accordingly and save yourself from the parking lot fang destroying blocks.
