already interesting even before the green with surely one of the greatest (imho) cheater starts of all time: Will Power qualified in the last row secondary to slapping the wall during qualy. Well low-n-behold when the field rolls out for the parade laps Will's car (allegedly) won't start! But not to worry race fans: Penske got that thing running just as the last warmup lap started. Naturally, ole Will had to drive flat out for 2.5 miles in order to arrive at the last row just as the track went green....with hot tires at full race pressure and going 80mph faster than the back half of the field! bwahahahahaha...
passed eight cars on lap one.
it's not for nothin we call Penske The Captain.

I watched the whole race. Of course to root for my fellow dutch guy Rinus Veekay.
Plus I really admire the American way of showcasing such an event. And massive respect for these dudes flying at 220 mph along concrete walls.

But tbh, the race was boring. Almost no overtakings, the first 100 laps seemed to be all about fuel saving, no one wanting to lead the race and no one going flat out.
Then all of a sudden for the last 30 laps everything changed and it got unpredictable and exciting. So different from Euro style racing.

As someone who was a spectator yesterday, this statement is very true. The second half of the race was much, much faster than the first. Sounds weird - but you could feel it.

I was in shock at how many cars had issues entering the pits. Also Rahal's wheel incident...that must be absolutely devastating.

Honestly, I really appreciate your kind words . Thank you my friend !

And of course MAX , I'm 100 % fan . I know him and saw him driving over here at the kart circuit .And I can tell you , his driver skills are unreal !
My home is 20 min. from his birthplace here in Belgium .

I'm very happy , he's currently the leader in the F1-drivers ranking .
But the season isn't over yet ....
