Any experience with BG CF5?

Folks - I have a new to me Z4M that I'm working my way through with basic maintenance items. I added a can of BG 44K platinum to the fuel tank in order to help clean the injectors, valves, combustion chamber, etc. I bought three cans of the stuff and was planning to run the three cans back to back in fuel fill-ups to make sure the fuel system is very clean. I contacted BG to see if that's recommended or not (as rumor on some forums say too much BG cat hurt the cats). BG says 44K is safe for the catalytic converters, but to run CF5 after the initial treatment and in all subsequent fill-ups (though their website and fact sheet say CF5 every 3-5K miles). BG recommended a can of 44K in the fuel at oil change intervals.

Anyone have experience with their CF5 product? Good, bad, indifferent? Any thoughts about running 44K back to back?

I don't plan to run a can of their CF5 stuff at every fill up cause it's over $18 per can. I just want to do a good, thorough cleaning to reset my baseline for fuel system maintenance.

Constructive comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

Ok no comments regarding CF5.

How about running BG 44K in back to back fill ups? Anyone done this and had issues? Thanks

Running back to back fill ups shouldn't be an issue and here's my logic/reasoning behind that statement. BG's instruction is somewhat vague - pour in the entire 11 oz. can and fill up your gas tank. How much more vague can it get! It doesn't specified what the dilution ratio should be. My guess is that BG assumes that the average gas tank in a passenger car is roughly 14-16 gallons and therefore that 11 oz should be good for 14-16 gallons.

Our Z4 have a 14-gallon tank and I've used 1 BG44k can per fill up every 10k mile or so without issues (Although I have been slacking with the BG44K treatment recently on the Z). My X5 has a 24-gallon tank and I've used 2 BG44k cans per fill up without issues. If you make the appropriate projection from that, pouring 2 BG44k cans into a 24-gallon tank is similar to running 1 BG44k can per 14-gallon back to back. I've done this for years (although not strictly on BG44k diet as I've been going back and forth between BG44K and Techron, but the ratio are fairly similar) in the X5 since new and it's about to turn 18 with 150K+ miles in a couple of weeks. But then again, I'm only one sample...so take that for what it's worth. But if you're concern, then run a can now and again in another 3K miles later. Just keep using top tier gasoline and you should be good.

Thanks for the input. I'll give it a shot.

Just fyi my valves in my coupe still look like new with no carbon build up. I don't use any cleaner and I'm sitting at 102k miles. I do run top tier 93 in it. I use to use cleaner in other cars but I'm just not sure it's really needed.

That's one of the reason why I got lazy with cleaners on all of my cars. But I still use it every once in a while to clean the entire fueling system.

And I thought that this thread was going to be about an ant invasion because you spilled a soda in your car...
