Take off the trim around the shifter and that filler plate slides forward.

Pull up on the shifter trim.
Slide the filler towards dash. In the picture you can see the tongues on the filler plate and the slots in the console.

One thing Im not crazy about is the low quality soft touch plastics in the Z. Extended leather should’ve been standard. It’s as bad if not worse than my old Saab and VW!
