08 Si trans shift

Having never driven a BMW the Z4 automatic trans is new to me. Is it normal to hear the trans shifting out of 1st? There is not clunking or odd ball sounds that you would just know is not normal (I am familiar enough with cars to know when a trans in failing). Just a audible sound that is not heard in other shifts. I can't recall if it does it in sport mode (I think it does not).

I haven't noticed anything like that on my 2006 Z4 3.0si.

it is hard to explain. If I get on it (not in sport mode) hard from a stop I don't hear it. If I am in sport mode from a start I don't hear it. The trans is not slipping. Just a sound. Maybe it is just how the car is.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine does all kinds of crazy things but bmw says they can't explain it so just drive it and don't worry about it.
