No CEL with DKF 100 cell HFC!

Just like the title says, I swapped out my 300 cell cat for the 100 cell and happy to report no CEL or codes. The one minor thing I did however was adding a pair of o2 spacers. So I can’t tell you if it’s needed or not but for the $15, may as well throw them on so you don’t have to get under the car twice.

Very nice man. Weird though how my CEL came on after 3 starts with DKF’s 300 cell cats. Switching those out to resonators once the car is out the shop.

Did you feel/hear any difference going from 300 to 100?

So I guess those o2 spacers are probably a must for you.

hi there, my car came with DFK cats, which I don’t know if it is 100 or 300, but since my car is a road fun weekend car The foul smell is driving me nuts, are you noticing much difference in terms of smell between the two? I am actually removing the DFK and install a euro set of cats

With 300 no smell really. With 100’s I notice small amount during cold start up. You sure you don’t have resonators (i.e. not cats) as part of your DKF section 2?

Nope, i have seen inside, they are cats. I have euro headers, so that maybe part of the issue.

I have Euro headers too... you sure you don't have a leak? Did you use new gaskets?

Honestly so many to choose from on eBay but I just filtered for stainless and located within USA. Some have more restrictive opening than others so you may need to play around with that. I used the 2nd one...

I just wanted to make sure I get the right thread size and pitch. Not sure how much variability there exists in o2 sensor threads but now I can buy that with zero research. Thank you!

It’s a standard fitting, they’re all the same

Pics of DKF 100 cell and 300 cell cats attached. If you can see straight through them, they are probably 100 cell cats.

I'd estimate 75% of the fumes are removed with 100 cell cats. 300 cell remove 90-95% of the fumes. Check for leaks by looking for black "burn marks" on the exhaust near the connections, especially around the v-bands. You can also run your hands near the exhaust on cold start, feeling for leaks. Be careful; the exhaust heats up quickly, so don't physically touch anything. Start from the headers and work your way backwards towards the mufflers. Don't take longer than 10-15 seconds to feel for leaks, because the exhaust will get too hot.

thanks for the photos, I am taking mine out next January to install the EU section 1, with global warming is my fair share to not modify the car in a way that is more harmful =P
