Supersprint x pipe delete and connecting pipes

I purchased my z4MC with a supersprint racing catback but didn't think it was loud enough. I just received an RPI as I heard it was much louder. In doing the swap, my flanges on the OEM section 2 crumbled apart due to corrosion. While I wait for some repair flanges to come, I decided to drive the car without any catback.

To my surprise, besides some high RPM rasp, the loudness and tone weren't much different from the supersprint race catback. It got me thinking that maybe I should just stick with the supersprint, and get the matching xpipe delete instead of moving to the RPI.

I have a short shifter on the way, and my thinking snowballed to maybe I should also replace the section 1 with straight pipe connecting pipers from supersprint too.

I do not want to do headers due to emission problems. This is a Sunday driver.

My question is, how much of the sound dampening is done by the connecting pipes vs the xpipe. Will I regret if I do both? Should I do connecting pipes over the xpipe or vice versa. Should I stick with all supersprint, or use the RPI (I really don't love the tip design to be honest)

Congrats with your Z4Mc!

Cats are the biggest sound dampening besides the back muffler.

Rpi has not muffler as you already know.

Header cats are probably about 20% louder
Section One cats are about 10-12%
Xpipe about 5%

I've deleted all cats and has straight xpipe. Then tuned the sound/volume with 5 different back mufflers.

Google Skyermotorsport on YouTube for all the sound recordings.

HTHs,

HTHs,
What is the setup that you ended up settling on as far as catback?
