Bleeding of Soft Top Hydraulics?
Hey everyone, so recently, my Z4 fell victim to the infamous hydraulic pump failure. I'm looking to install a new one I got for it, but in the process, I lost a lot of hydraulic fluid. I have a bottle of the stuff, but I'm curious if anyone knows of a way to bleed to system in the car? I've read other people say to run the motor through the procedures a few times with the bypass valve open but I don't see how this would bleed it... Any help would be appreciated!

Please don't quote me on that as I have not done the job myself however in one of the top motor threads recently someone had mentioned that the hydraulics for the top motor are self-bleeding.
I had an issue personally where the top stopped operating even though the motor was replaced. At some point in time I had just pushed the button and held it pressed for a long time. In a minute or so I started hearing the fluid rushing through the lines and the roof had activated and working since. Felt like it was a problem with air in the hydraulics. |
