Steering wheel controls don't work

Hello all. Got a 2006 Z4 and the steering wheel multifunction buttons have not worked since I've owned it. I read that it was possibly the clock spring, so I replaced that and still no dice. I also bought a used set of buttons off ebay and still nothing. My buttons do light up with the ambient lighting, so the cable connections should be good I imagine. Anyone have any insight as to what else to try?

Does inpa also show they don't work?

Ah never heard of that application. I've ordered the obdII cable and will investigate further once it arrives. Thank you!
