Hartge Z4 N54 Swap - Repost?
Always wondered if anyone could/would do a n54 engine swap in the non-m e86... I guess this answers my question:
http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/05/t...e-biturbo-z30/ Btw - has anyone actually seen that front lip for sale? I've seen the other Hartge bumper/lip on the pre-facelift roadster but never actually seen the one in the link above. Last edited by 3002 tii; 10-05-2010 at 05:19 PM.. |

We aren't criticizing you, just wondering why anyone would spend the money for this car. Makes no sense with what is available for $110K...

I like the bumper too. Looks like mine but with little bits added like the center vert bar and the side lips.

id believe they could get a little more power from that engine, 4.8 is not too much gain after all that work put into it

Reviving this super old thread, last year I bought my daughter a 2006 e85 Z4 for her 16th bday, I recently did a complete suspension refresh on her car and I have been driving it more and more, I really like the platform and thought to myself, this would be a really fun little car with more power.
I did a google search for a n54swap into a Z4 and couldn’t find much, I did see the 2Jz swap which opened my eyes to the ECU issues, I would think the N54 would swap in easily into the Z4 but the issue would be the N54 DME. Well if anyone has a link to someone or a shop that has done it, would be greatly appreciated…

I dont get it , Many publications posted the M 0-60 at 4.9 seconds. Top speed of 177 unlikely and irrelevant. I was ticketed for 50kms an hr in a 40km yesterday!
