How do you open the gear shift/selector panel?
Can someone please tell me how to open the plastic panel that surrounds the gear shifter? It's that panel in the centre that houses the gear selector, leather boot, and gear shifter.
Thanks! |

I'm guessing automatic? If its the same as my old E46 auto. You need to grab the leather shift boot part and it will separate from the plastic, then with a very thin screw driver you should be able to get the plastic shifter surround out from the center console. Sorry I dont have specifics.

Doh, guess it's not the same. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hopefully someone that has done it before will chime in shortly. Its definitely removable as per RealOEM though, you might want to checkout the boot on RealOEM and see where all the tabs are to aid in removal.

It has been awhile but the way I did it was to pull the e brake boot over the handle and then snap the the two plastic pieces in front of the e brake handle apart and then unclip the the gear selector surround.
This guy seemed to go take the shifter knob off and worked his way down http://www.motortribe.it/community/f...i-parte-17411/ |
