Seat base swap?

I have Black power heated M seats and looking at Red manual heated M seats.

It seems the seat back are fairly easy to swap out, how about the seat base? Do I have to take the seat leather cover out or it's simpler than that? I don't have to worry about heating or occupancy sensor, right?

I'll take a look tomorrow but just wondering if anyone has done this swap before..

I want to end up with Red power heated M seats as a result of this swap.

TIA,

New seats are manual heats. I want to keep my power memory function since I'm not the only one driving the car. Both are heated so I don't have to fiddle with heat core. I just want red seats.

Check this out:

It would appear that the seat covers come off intact fairly easily. This one, although a bit stained, shows the heating element intact. That would confirm that all the power adjusting bits are in the base alone.

On this basis, your plan sounds feasible.

Cheers.
