Advice:: best place to sell
I'm starting to consider putting my Z4M up for sale.
I have some investment opportunities that I don't want to pass. Not sure yet if this is the path I will take yet. What do you guys think about putting it up on BAT vs traditional channels? A little about the car: '06 Z4M Roadster 30,500 miles Texas all its life It's my weekend toy Black / Imola Interior

Well, considering I just bought mine on BaT, I’d say that’s a good option. Prices there are rarely under book, but the book on these rare beasts isn’t always helpful. I paid over book for mine, but it already had much of the desirable maintenance items already looked after, so I justified it to myself.
Your mileage will help you but your lack of a roof will hurt. You need an enthusiast that is knowledgeable enough to know these are worth more than non-Ms, so the more traditional car search sites aren’t as desirable, in my opinion.

BaT will lowball you on the reserve so be ready for that. Also it's an auction and they can be hit and miss. BaT does seem to bring a good price for many cars, but there are bargains on there too.
For me the real value of BaT is showing how to present a car for sale to an audience who is knowldegeable and geographically diverse. When I was preparing to sell my 3.0si coupe I put a package together as if I was going to sell it on BaT. Then I posted advertisements in a few enthusiast locations. Got a buyer! |

The BMWCCA website (if you're a member) gets a lot of views too. I sold my ZHP coupe after listing it there almost immediately. Their listings are horribly presented (tiny tiny pics - it's not 1996 any more guys!) but you can link out to pics of your own. I too took the BaT approach and took about 40-50 good pics, in a nice location, some posed with my pal's M4, and they really helped convince the buyer that mine was the car for him. Definitely fully detail the car first - makes a huge difference in the presentation. Good luck!

If you’re going to put your car up for sale email me the details. I’m in the market for a nice low mileage Z4M roadster. I’m in Dallas. Balikos@verizon.net.

I appreciate all your feed back but I have decided against selling. This baby will stay with me for a little while longer.
