Fixed Back seats

What fixed back seats fit in M Coupe and what seat base/brackets did you use?

I'm planning to install a roll bar/harness bar and Sparco seats with removable head restraint tabs.

If you've done this or anything like this, what did you use?

You commented in a thread that I posted on the Wiechers roll bar using Sparco EVOII seats and VAC Hardware - so you can see how that setup looks there.

I am also planning to move to a Halo seat and the Circuit II dimensions seem to be nearly identical to the EVOII. However, I think the ERGO - with removable head restraint tabs - might be too tall and is at least 30mm taller than the Circuit II. Just saw them both in person at NJMP last week and you can definitely see the size difference.

AriuSen has run a BRIDE halo and I think a Recaro Pro Racer HANS and may be able to comment on those.

Definitely go with Brey Krause hardware. So much easier to install compared to VAC or other similar types of mounting brackets with high quality.

I have the bride one but you need to remove the door panel to fit

Same for most of the seats though.

Profi spg Halo one will clear

I've ordered the Sparco Ergo seats and entire base kit. Next weekend will have a roll bar and harnesses installed also.

Had the car at VIR this past weekend and after driving race cars with all the safety stuff, just couldn't feel good without it all!

If the Ergo is too tall, I'll swap them out for something. Got to start somewhere!

Hopefully the Sparco base that is made specifically for the Z4 will work without issue. I'm not turning this into a race car, just want more safety options and to be able to run harnesses and my Hans.

That's Great and seems like you're well on your way! I feel that safety only works as a full system. Seat, Roll Bar, Harness and HANS all need to be done at the same time.

Please report back on the ERGO as I am really curious if it will fit. Also, which roll bar did you end up going with? Custom?

If you have fitment issues, take a look at the Tillett range, they are much narrower (compared to the others, externally), but are freaking insane, sadly, as is the price...

Going with a custom weld in. I've looked at everything I can find online and decided to have roll bar built.

I agree on safety. My harnesses and seat mounting gear came yesterday and seat should have been here but who knows where they are? Roll bar will be built hopefully in 3 weeks.

If your on East Coast, come to Hyperfest at VIR in May. Huge car event with racing and music and fun. I'll be there and maybe I can give a ride or two!
