Inspection/valve adjustment based on time or mileage?

Haven't been able to find an opinion on this in the threads...

I drive a 2007 Z4MR with 12k miles on the clock, and it's probably going to take a good 2 more years before the computer timer for Inspection 1 runs out. I figure there's some stuff that will perish with time regardless mileage, so am I actually overdue for Inspection 1? (Oil & brake fluid are up to date...)
