MORE "Lotsa questions"

I'm looking at a 2003 Z4 2.5 auto-tran that has an equipment code # S823A Hot climate version in the VIN info sheet. Any one know just what that means?

Thanks again to all respondents!!

I would stay away from the auto trans imo. Get the 5spd manual instead. Supposedly that option was that the hvac system sends more cold air to the center vents, coded in is all. I thought it had something to do with the ccv but I guess not.

Yeh, I know, but I've been shifting gears in cars for 70 years and I'm just getting lazy.

AHA!!! Thanks for the info.

Any idea what "HECK" means after "DRIVE" in the VIN check information site?

It's listed in all the cars regardless of transmissions.

With respect to the automatic transmissions in the E85 / E86 Z4's, I am not aware that any of them has abnormal operational, maintenance or failure issues.

I am in Canada but my 2006 car is a hot climate version (its imported from Florida). I know a fellow with a Canadian-spec 2007 Z4 3.0si, almost identical to mine other than color. His car came with power folding mirrors, heated seats and the factory hard wind deflector. Those are the only differences I have noted; I think they were likely standard equipment on all Canadian cars.
